Could someone please point me in the right direction? My ultimate goal is to have SIP phones be able to access the system remotely. I bought a 9608 thinking I could accomplish this but it doesn't appear to be the case. I'm running IPO 8.1 with Manager 10.1(63)

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

IP Office doesn't support 9608 phones running SIP during normal operation.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thank you for the response. Do you know of a model that does?

SIP phones without a VPN will not work on the IPO.
Fix your VPN problem instead of trying anything else.
Instead of repairing a flat tire you want wooden wheels so that they will not get flat again.
But now you will have broken wheels.

Point i try to make is that your new "solution" will have problems too.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thank you for your response Peter. Does Avaya offer any solutions that do offer remote access via SIP?

Read the Remote Extension from the help in the Manager. Load H323 firmware in the 9608 and let the register remotely, or upgrade to 6.3 h323 firmware and you will get the vpn in the ipphones.
