Using 5215 / 5220 IP Phone with standard "PC" headset

I would like to use Andrea Electronics ANC-750 headsets with Mitel 5215 and 5220 IP Phones. I purchased a Headset Buddy (01-PC35-RJ9A):

adapter that purportedly supports this. At one point I was able to hear dial tone through the headset with the adapter (and the phone in headset mode), but the other party could never hear me in a call. I've tried Andrea's APS-100 (auxiliary power supply) in case the mic is under powered. Now for some reason, I can't get audio coming or going with the headset (with or without the APS-100).

Are you putting the phone in "headset mode"? If not are you taking the handset out of the cradel?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Yes, I'm putting the phone in headset mode. By the way, the headset I'm using works just fine with a PC (both the headphones and the mic).

Sorry you said that in the original post. Don't know enought about the device to know to be much help. Where does the unit plug in? Don't say the bottom of the phone becuase that only works with Mitel headsets.

Maybe the APS-100 isn't compatible with the Mitel protocol of the phone...with IP devices, the phone itself generates all audio...
