Hi,

I have SQL 7.0 installed on my servers and about 4 databases running. I am running SQL queries to extract name and address info from the databases but using SQL 7.0 query analyser returns addresses all on one line and I can't split them up.

I know that SQL 2000 Query Analyser does not do this as it has been tested offsite but I don't want to upgrade my whole installation to SQL 2000 just yet. Can I install a copy of SQL 2000 Query Analyser on a PC on my network and query my SQL 7.0 server without causing any problems?

Thanks in advance,

Mia

yes insert the sql server cd and you can install the client tools only, by default this installs I think query analyser, profiler,EM (+DTS),BOL (be careful using sql2k BOL on sql 7).

PS theres probably better ways of extracting the data you are after without copying straight from query analyser eg DTS
