I need to get a net amount of 2 running totals i have previously defined. is there any way to do this since i do not see them in the report list when i go into the formula editor? i assume i can keep a count of each of these in a formula field and place it in a hidden line but that seems to be clumsy. we're on vewrsion 10 of crystal reports.

Running Totals are available to formulas, they are prefixed by the # character.

Perhaps in some cases they are not, in which case you can do th equivalent in Crystal using formulas, and then do whatever summaries within those same formulas.

Perhaps if you post example data and expected output, as well as your software versiona and the database/connectivity used we'll have sufficient information to go on.

I just realized this after posting this thread. i was in a running total when i should have been in a formula.

thanks for the reply
