I have converted my domain "domain.com" to 2000 AD,we have 2 DC's DC1 and DC4 ( both win2000) and a NT 4.0 BDC ,that seems to have gone fine, but when I go to my file server (windows 2000 server not Domain Controller)and look at the security of folders, some users show up as SID numbers not the username???? any ideas?

Hi,

The S-1-XXXXXX is the SID of the user.If the system can't resolve this to a name then it can only mean that the name has been deleted or that the name was held on a different host which is no longer available. Either way it should be safe to remove any references to it

it´s the SID of a user or group that is on another DC or PC.
check your connection to the domain or the trusts to other domains

Is there a way to get the associations back will I have to delete the sid numbers and re add the user to the security tab?
