So The title says it all... I am working on a Server Edition, and (almost) no users are logging in automatically after a reboot. Each 9608G phone has a unique base extension, and a matching user. 'Force Login' is not set on any user. I would like users to log in automatically, but I am at a loss. This has happened when we were on 9.1, 10.0, 10.1, and now 11.0, so I don't think this is an issue with the specific revision.

One weird thing... There are 2 remote users, and both of them actually do log in. Nothing seems to be provisioned any different on these 2.

I'm sure there is a simple explanation, but I don't have it... Help please? Thank you all for reading.

Hello

I'm on an SE running ip phones at 14 different locations.
Current version is 11.1.0.1.0 build 95
(system started at 9.1)

I have always believe this was a bug in the software.

If I reboot the phone system.
Some phones auto login, some phone sit at a login prompt.
Totally random
I have phones sitting next to each other, one auto logs in, the other is sitting at a login prompt.

Under User – telephony – Supervisor Setting.
Login Code is blank.
Login idle period is blank.

1) What happens if the phone is unplugged & reconnected (I suspect the IPO is not likeing being bombarded by multiople refress atempts at the same time

2) why are the reboots happening in the 1st place an IPO in production should almost never require a reboot!

With R11 you should absolutely have login codes set. Have you attempted to add a login code and see if it automatically logs in?

As for the OP are you using a login code or not? If not see above suggestion.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

R11.1 will bark at you if you don't have a login set in the extension tab. I have had some phones not login if that code isn't there. If it was upgraded it will give warning in SSA about legacy login.

Thank you all for the replies... I haven't been getting email notifications of replies so I thought my thread was dead.

I have login codes set for all users. Login codes match the extension passwords for each associated extension. The phones do look to log in generally when unplugged and plugged back in. When I do a reboot, only 2 remote phones (the same ones each time) log in automatically.

This problem came to light because I have been trying to do a SE upgrade from 9.1 -> 10.0 -> 10.1 -> 11.0.4.6 -> 11.1 The upgrade to 11.0.4.6 failed, so I have tried about everything in order to not have to rebuild SE with a new VM. I ended up at 11.0.2 which caused major jitter on the customer's 9608G phones. Avaya was involved throughout the process, and they don't have an answer for me on the login issue. On the upgrade front I was left with "rebuild the server from scratch" so eventually I did... Just FYI this was a pain because we had Chronicall installed, and storing a TON of recordings on the VM Pro server which needed manual moving to the new VM.

I worked on this every night and weekend for a month, needing to power down the server every night, and when the customer came in in the morning they would have to log back in. Now that I am at a virgin install of 11.0.4.6 (not yet 11.1) I still have the same login problems as when I was troubleshooting at every other point in the process. This makes me think configuration, but I can't think of how that's possible.
