I'm using Enterprise 9. I posted a question (thread782-1371602) similar to this, but I've been looking into it more, and I have a more specific question. I have two users in the administrator group set up, and the group has full control. If I try to change the password of either user, whether I'm logged on as that user or the other one, I get this message "You do not have permission to perform the requested action. Please contact your system administrator for details." I get the same thing when I select that the user needs to change their password at the next log on - when I try to enter in the new password, I get the same message. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Check the User configuration and be sure the
'User cannot change password' option
is not checked..

Thanks for the suggestion, Turkbear, but "user cannot change password" is not checked.

Hi,
OK, one more idea: does the account that runs the CMS have full permissions on the CMS dataabse?

( BTW,What database and version are you using for your CMS)

Do you mean if I go into CCM, stop the APS and go to properties and then to the configuration tab, the APS Data Source? If so, it says "Crystal Repository." If I click on Specify, Select a Data Source, choose ODBC, and go to Machine Data Source, it has Crystal Repository (with the description "a sample repository for Crystal Reports Designers". That doesn't seem right to me. The other data source choices are wslogdb61, wslogdb63, and Xtreme Sample Database 9. How do I know if I'm using the correct data source (if that's what you are asking about)? Sorry for my denseness. Thanks for the help!

Hi,
On the server running Enterprise, the database specified by that entry is probably an ODBC DSN..Use the server's 'Control panel/administrative tools/Data Sources' tab to check its configuration and see what database is being used( probably MSDE)
Be sure it is a system DSN not a USER one.
Then, in the CCM, be sure, when looking at the properties of the APS, that is is running under an account with sufficient rights to that database ( try running it under the server's administrative account.)

Thanks so much Turkbear! With your suggestions, someone else here was able to figure it out for me. What a relief!!!!!!
