The problem is that after joing a domain some users lose there desktop shortcuts and favorites and programs in the start menu, is there any way to stop this and keep the users system settings from when they weren't in the domain?

Thanks.

This is not a malfunction, but is a functionality of Windows to preserve the local profile. If you want to keep the setting, copy the profile under C:\Documents and Settings\ to the new profile.

Hope that helps.

and also copy it to the directory on server where all profiles are located , do that when the user is logged out .
( thats good for him to log in later on other comps and get his desktop and stuff back ... ) Alex,
Problem? No Problem!
Drink more beer...
