i have a remote user who occasionally gets disconnected from her ICA session without being prompted to reconnect. so when she tries to open the app back up, she receives the message, a seamless connection already exists. is there quick way to set our server to reset a user after being in a disconnected state for x minutes.

i am new to citrix administration, sorry if this seems like an overly simple question. and thanks, for any help you may be able to provide.

slow and steady wins the race.

Adbsolutely, Go into the User manager (C:\WINNT\system32\usrmgr.exe) and on the tsconfig page there are 2 settings. One is "Timeout setting" when disconnected and the other is "On a broken or timed-out connection". We set ours to 1 minute on the timeout disconnection and "reset" on the broken or timed-out connection. But I would not do this globally, only on a per user basis. We have some people who run big database queries who disconnect and come back when the program is finished to see the results and those settings would reset them.

Also, you can set it enterprise wide by using the toolbar option in Citrix (The Citrix Connection Configuration), or the Start Menu option under Start->Programs->Metaframe Tools. Doubleclick on the option you want (for me ICA-TCP and or RDP-TCP) and choose the advanced option. They will allow you to set reset and disconnect vaiables globally (not a bad idea either if you get a lot of disconnects or dial-up users)

thanks all, i will give these a try.
