I have all of my users with the letter H: mapped to their home directory "\\servername\home\%username% on the server using the profiles tab in active directory.

sometimes gets mapped to the root of the home directory and not to his direcotry. They can change the mapping manually each time this happens but I would like to prevent this from happeneing at all. Any suggestions?

Yes, Net use in the script is an option but we want to avoid that.

Permission looks fine, User can manually map \\server\share\%username%.

It is possible that the mapping needs to wait on the network to catch up. In the GPO there is a setting that states; Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon.

comp config/admin temp/system/logon
This should help this issue.

What you said might be true but it only fails for around 20 users out of 1500.

I ended up configuring GP and now it works.
Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon.
