Hi there,

I am looking for info on how to, in either flash or director, create a movie that will allow users to chose the colour of a sprite, selecting from a full palette. A full, 256 colour palette, not just a limited number of colours like you see in many colouring book type things.

Shows the kind of thing I had in mind, but sadly doesn’t really allude to the how to behind it.

Thanks
p.

there are a couple of palette components at that for flash at least you just drop on the stage and off you go. all you add is the instance name of the movie clip whose color will be changed by user interaction with the palette.

to work out how these components function put it on the stage right click and select edit. from there you can get to the actionscript. most i think you will find have the palette colours as buttons with simple code attached to them.

CooL! Do you think there is away to do the same thing using swatches, rather than a HSB type of palette? i have a feeling it goes beyond just changing the image in the movie clip ;)
