Hello,

About two weeks ago all users had access to OWA and outlook mail on our fairly new exchange 2010 server which is. But now only the Administrators group/users have access and NO other group/user has access. Basicly when a normal user (non administrator) clicks on their outlook icon the outlook program opens but its not connecting to the Mail server. It pops open a dialog box asking for userid and password. But it will not take the users password which is the same password they use to log on to the domain. We are not sure what had happened. The exchange 2010 is on a MS Windows 2008 R2 virtual server with fail over capability. If we take any user and move their account into the Admin group in Active directory then they get access. We looked at the group policy and there is nothing locking it down. Im not sure if something is going on with Active directory or something had changed in Exchange. The exchange server had rebooted and actually thats the time when all this stuff kind of started to happen. Any help or direction in trouble shooting this would be very appreciated.

with fail over capability"? What's that mean?

What errors do you get in the event log on the Exchange server? Anything in the event logs on the clients?

Are you using Outlook in MAPI mode or as Outlook Anywhere?

If I had to guess, I'd say that the permissions on the IIS virtual directory are wrong. Set Outlook to MAPI only and see if that connects then look at the get-webservicesvirtualdirectory output and check the security settings.

But that's just a guess.

Anything in the AD logs?
