Howdy!

I have a remote printer defined in /etc/printcap

lp: :lp=:rm=heat:ex:rp=lp:sd=/usr/spool/lpd/lp:

For years, we printed to this printer through a open VMS
server (heat). Open VMS was upgrated a few weeks back and
since then, regular users cannot print to to lp while root
can.

I logged in as a regular user (an actual data entry clerk) and allowed to go to command prompt. From there, I send a banner to lp; the standard message is showned but nothing ever prints.

Any ideas?

Thank you all in advance!

If the remote print server is not sco then remove the ex directive and check /etc/hosts.lpd for the openvms machine.
