Users cannot edit contacts

Although users are owners of contacts they still cannot open or edit them. This is occuring with random contact folders and users, not all of them, and not all the contacts within the folder. We have upgraded from Exchange 5.5 to 2000 awhile back. I have tried Export/Import and a copy to another owned folder.

Try backing up the contacts, deleting the address book and recreating it. I've had that problem before but I can't remember the exact fix.

Give this RUN command a shot, might help.

outlook.exe /cleanviews

I believe it resyncs the folders with the actual data contained within. It has helped me in the past. Good luck.
