One of our clients ftp'd a file to a intranet website that we administer for them, and later deleted it.

I (and any other user) can still go to the URL for that (now) non-existent file and see it !

I've searched the entire webserver for that file name, and nothing is found.

The default page DOES NOT do a redirect, there are no custom errors pointing to that page. I'v even stopped and restarted that site, and the "page' is still accessible.

any ideas ?

Thanks

The page image may be locked into the application cache. stopping and starting the site does not always clear it. Try running iisreset from a command prompt this should stop and restart the server and clear the application page cache.

I stopped and restarted the about 30 sseconds before I saw your reply Chris.

I was looking for something juicy, I suppose. I hate "reboot"-type fixes with a passion.

Thanks,

Doug
