Users are NOT logging off, in stead they just click to close the page, keeping their licence open, so we get quite a lot of 'Concurrent Licences are all used up' errors!!! I am sure there is a setting whereby a licence session can be closed if idle. Can anyone let me know where this is done?

You can change the Session time-out in CE to kill sessions after x-amount of time.

Go to
1. CMC
2. Click on Servers
3. Click on Crystal Report Application Server
4. Click on the "Server" tab
5. Set the "Minutes Before an Idle Connection is Closed" ... default is 30 minutes.

Good luck!

Is this the only place where this is done, as we do not use the RAS server???

Not usre if this works on all, but "Minutes Before an Idle Connection is Closed" is also in:

. Crystal Page Server
. Crystal Cache Server

Those are database connections, not user sessions.

You need to add the switch -DefaultSessionTimeout n to the WCS command line (where n is number of minutes).

Thanks to both

Just as a matter of interest to KingFisher, without this command line, what would the default be?

Have you install the latest fix? I think I've seen a issue like that on crystal support site.

Also you can manually release the licences; shutdown the WCS and the APS, then restart them.
