USERID/PASSWORD invalid 1

I just installed Oracle8i Lite and was not able to use itsSQLPLUS 8.0. It asked for userid and password.
I tried to input INTERNAL/ORACLE to no avail.

Can you help correct this problem.
I tried to recall the ERROR msg: ORA-12203 TNS:unable to connect to destination.

I am just trying to learn how to use SQL on my PC.

Hi ,
Try using userid/pwd: scott/tiger OR sys/change_on_install

if still it does not work , search for initorcl.ora file and look what the 'db_name' in that file is , i am sure it must be 'oracle' if it isnt make it and try again .

hi again ,

one more thing you can do ,try giving the Host String as well , like: internal/oracle@orcl OR internal/oracle@oracle.

I am working on Oracle 8 so i can only suggest you these solutions , no harm in trying them.
