I have a user on a brand new HP laptop running WinXp SP2. When anyone logs onto our Windows network on this laptop, it takes about 5 to 8 minutes from entering your password to the start of the login script.
We are using Active Directory. I noticed when looking in the Userenv.log file on the laptop that there were many repeated entries as follows:
ProcessAutoexec: Cannot process autoexec.bat
This might be the thing that is delaying the logon since I see 20 of these in a row in the userenv.log file. This is just a guess. There are a few other things in the file that are in error as well but they are mostly one-shot deals. This is the only error that appears en masse.
Since XP does not use Autoexec.bat, can someone tell me how to remedy this problem? I have searched Microsoft's site exhaustively to no avail.
Thank you very much!!
