UserDefined Function :MySQL Restarts

hi,
I am attempting to create a Function by means of using the following query create function xxxx returns integer so name yyyyy.so . The Function gets created Properly at the first time. But when i attempt to Create the same function again after dropping it the MySQL Server gets restarted and the function is not getting created. I don't know what will be problem.....Could any one give me a solution or hint where will be the problem. Thanks in advance.

MySQL Server Version is :4.0.15-standard. Binary Distribution
OS : Linux8.0
