Hi,

I tried to get a user with Vista SP1 to install a user certificate from certificate services so we could use it with their VPN connection.

I've set up loads of users and it's worked fine until this machine.

Everytime they choose 'install certificate' after submitting the user certificate request, it errors saying it isn't a trusted authority and refuses to install the certificate.

Why?, loads of other machine have installed the certificate fine without this problem.

So ok, I got them to go to 'Download a CA certificate, certificate chain, or CRL' , where normally there would be this option...
To trust certificates issued from this certification authority, install this CA certificate chain.
with a hyperlink for the install this CA chertificate chain. only there is no hyperlink.

So I got them to click on the links further down the page....
Download CA certificate

Download CA certificate chain
they installed both certificates fine went back to download the user VPN certificate and it's saying the same thing about it not being a trusted CA authority?

Why is this happening, and how do we fix the problem.

I don't underatand why other machines don't have this problem, I've installed it at home with my Vista and never had these problems?

All advice greatly appreciated.
