OS: Windows 2000 Server as a domain controller

I recently disabled a few user accounts in Active Directory for a few days and when I tried to enable the account the user now cannot VPN in. It worked perfectly before, but now it does not.

The error is 647 "Account Disabled". Other users can still VPN connect, so I know everything is working correctly on that end, it is just the user accounts that were disabled and then re-enabled.

I tried adding a new user to the domain and after a successful login on the domain workstation the new user account cannot VPN in.

Can anyone help me solve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

also once you enable the account reset the password and see if that works.

Thanks Grant for responding.

I did try changing the password and logging in to the domain on a workstation, which worked fine but the VPN still didn't work.

As it turns out I wasn't aware of the full situation, since I am new to my company. I did not kow that we have a redundant DC. There was a problem with the replication between the two servers, so we were actually showing two different Active Directory structures. After some looking I figured out how to enable the sync. I then saw that the users, who I thought I had re-enabled, were still disabled. I proceeded with enabling the accounts again and everything started working again.

This would have been an easy issue to fix and not require a post on this forum, if I would have known there were two DC.

Thanks again for your post.
