I have a user that gets the following message when he clicks 'send' on a new mail: NLNOTES.exe-the instruction at 0x16e842e referenced memory at 0x0000004. The memory could not be wrritten. Click ok to terminate the program or cancel to debug the program.
When the user clicks ok, the program closes and he must restart his system in order to open notes again. This doesn't happen if he 'forwards' an email or 'reply's to an email--this is on a NEW email only--I had the user disable the spellchecker and this stopped the error. So now, what do I need to do to fix spellchecker so that it doesn't cause this error?

Hi,
What version mail client are you running? I would upgrade to R5.12 if your on R5 and R6.3 if your on R6. This should resolve any bugs in the application. If the problem persists, I would try to replace the design on the users mail file and run a fixup.
Hope this helps.

Also, what desktop OS is the client running - Win98, Win2K, or XP/Home or XP/Pro ? and are the patches and SP's all current ?

Thank you for your information. I am running R6.0.1 CF1, dated March 2003 on XP home with most all patches-sp's installed. The ones that aren't installed do not pertain to what I use.
I will check into the upgrade, but since this is on a server in another city---they may or may not upgrade.

Hey,

I would upgrade the client to R6.0.3. The server is probably not causing the issue.

Hope this helps.

Rgds,

John Judge
