Hi,

Is it me or does this tool not work.

I have ran version 3 on a domain account from the XP machine, then gone to the Vista machine and ran the loadstate, it claimed to complete successfully.

But when I logon as the domain account no files have coppied over, the desktop is bare and so is the 'my docs' folder.

So where are these roaming profile files which it's meant to migrate?

I've checked the shared roaming profiles folder on the searver and it's completely empty , doesn't even contain the old XP files, let alone the new Vista ones?

Where is eveythig and how do I migrate the account from XP to Vista?

All help very much appreciated.

Thanks liney , in the end I just manually coppied the my docs & desktop over.

the USMT seemd to add the network printers in, and I haven't checked whether they still have their internet favourites.

But to be honest the tool seems more hasle than it's worth on a single PC basis.

It was quicker to manually copy the files than to wade through help files and instructions on how to use it plus wondering why I may need to spend time compliling XML files.

It really should be a simple task! Crikey I was expecting a GUI from the tool not a darn command line syntax!

Oh well, i'll know for next time!
