Hi,
About 4 or 5 years back, I joined a publishing firm as an IT support person and one of the first things that I was asked to look into was a problem wherby if a user ran a broad search query on our Windows 2000 Server, it would have an adverse effect on the other users connected to the file server at the time. All users connected to the server would see a dramatic speed decrease until this search query was complete.
After sometime browsing user forums, I found a post which suggested a registry change to the Windows 2000 server. I tried this and it worked!! Problem, now is that I am a different company now and they also seem to be reporting of the same problem with their Win2K server and I can't remember what the registry change was! Has anybody else seen this problem before and know what the fix might be ?
Many thanks in advance.
