User rights that are needed to back up remote servers???

Hey folks,

I am attempting to back up remote servers and I always get the error message "unable to attch to remote server. access denied, the credentals supplied ....." whenever I use a user ID and p/w that is not domain admin. The backup work fine when I use a credention that have domain admin.
I have tried using local administrative account on the machine without success

Is domain admin rights required to back up remote servers.

I am running backup exec 8.6, have remote agent installed on remote servers.
