User Rights Profiles

So I am new to my position and we are currently upgrading all of our phones from H.323 Avaya 9608 to Avaya J159. Do to this a request has been made for the bottom buttons to actually be programmed as User/BLF buttons for all members of the different offices. I know how to do this within the system but I have ran into a small snag.

If I create a User Rights that has all of the users it also adds that individual user as a button.

Ex: I have 2 users in the office, John Smith and Jane Doe. I program the User Right to have John Smith as button 25 and Jane Doe as button 26. When I go look at John Smith's phone it has his line listed as button 25 and Jane Doe as button 26.

Is is possible to create it in a way that it realizes it is John Smith's phone and not add that as a User button? Or do I have to manually build the buttons out for every user's phone?

Basically 'No'.

Is having the phone user also listed as one of their own phone's programmable buttons a sufficient issue that it outweighs the ease of programming and maintenance that using a user profile brings? Doubt it.

That's basically the conclusion I had come to and unfortunately for the group I need to do this for having their own number on there is going to be a point of contention that they will complain about. So I guess its manual programming for each of them.

If you have the users programmed on buttons then copy and paste all the users and change a single one in each user profile.
Still painful but I am with sizbut and doubt that they will make changes to the source code to have this avoided and not allow this to happen. That would also mean a question on what to do with that button, skip and leave blank but coming from the profile not being able to program in the user programming itself or shift all buttons up which would mean that the profile is actually not correct. So many options and none of them good as they would skew the programming.
