User Restrictions 1

I have a small customer with an IPO 403 with 40 handsets, about 5 of which need to be restricted from dialing out except for 911. That part is easy but the customer also wants these 5 users to be able to dial a series of short codes setup as speed dial numbers. These 90 short codes and 911 are the only thing these 5 users should be able to dial.
Any suggestions??

IPGuru, would this allow even users who are blocked using the "outgoing call block" to make 911 and the short codes set to DialEmergency ?? or would I still have to setup restrictions?

Why not setup one user restriction table and then apply this to the 5 given users, beats the hell out of entering 90 shortcodes and a 911 exception 5 times.

any short code set to DialEmergency will override OutBoundCall bar so these numers could be added to the system Shortcodes & be available to everyone (even loged off useres if necesary.
all the other sugestions should also work, you pays your money & takes your choice.

Easiest solution seems to be using the DialEmergency,

HoHum had the best suggestion because these changes are only applied to the users that you want restricted. A user restriction allows you to set calling restrictions for groups of individuals.

User restrictions are a good idea, but I usualy find i Use them Bakwards.

I bar the number(s) system wide then alow them in a restriction table.

If a user needs all calls baring then i find it easiest to set Outgoing Call Bar & then set the allowed numbers as DialEmergency either in a restriction profile or system wide

In most casses I find that the allowed numbers are required for all users tso I set them in system short codes to save having to set a profile on 5 or 6 individual users.

Each solution needs taloring to the specific requirements of the site just remember to K.I.S.S
