User receiving several failure notice or undeliverable emails 1

I have a user that receives both his exchange and pop3 mail in his exchange mailbox and in the last few days he is receiving several (maybe 30 or more a day) of undeliverable or failure notices emails and the emails are coming back from addresses that he never sent anything to and addresses he doesn't even know. What could be causing this?

Sounds like malware, not necessarily on his computer, but a thorough scan would be advisable.

Likely his email address has been picked up by some spammer and is being used as a sender. This user may be publicizing his email address.

Once the system is checked out you may have to change the email address.
