This question was posed to me by a user:

Is there a way to change the setting in groupwise so that when the user boots the PC and opens groupwise, the new mail in the mail box, defaults to the top of the page?

I have looked at the settings, I have changed the properties for both the mail box and the account name to default to sort by date, descending. The user is still having the problem of the mail box opening with new mail at the bottom. Any idea's?

Right-click on the word DATE (the column heading) and select SORT DESCENDING.

When setting up new folders, you can select this option while creating them.

This was done. When the user reboots, it goes back to the way it was.

Hi. This DOES sound like a setting or view issue. However, I have had a couple of instances of mail not staying where the user wants it. If the user logs onto another pc, is the problem still there? If so, its his/her account. Also, I had a problem with the mail FOLDER being at the bottom and would not move not matter what I did. You could do a recreate user database. There MIGHT be a corruption in there. First do a structure and content check. Then if that doesn't work try the recreate user database. My very last resort was a structural rebuild which fixed the problem but know what you are doing before trying this. Good luck.
