I have a problem with Metaframe XP on Win2k3 where I have used a policy (NT 4 poledit) to tie down the Start Menu for Citrix users (cannot use group policy as its in an NT 4 domain, and can't use local policy as it would affect admin as well). Problem is with this is that although the users Start Menu is fairly restricted they still have access to the Control Panel, which obviously is not ideal.

I cannot find anything in the profiles (all users/default user etc) which explains how the Control Panel link finds its way into the Menu. Anyone any ideas???

thanks

Hi,

Try typing in gpedit.msc and then removing the cpl files you don't want, you'll find the it:-

Local Computer Policy
User Configuration
Administrative Templates
Control Panel
Show only specified control panel applets
I give users:-

desk.cpl
intl.cpl
main.cpl

But I've also locked down the desktop options as well!

Hope this helps,
Carl.
