I have a user who when she logs in does not see her desktop nor her IE Favorites. When I check the desktop folder under her Documents and Settings the information is there in the "Desktop" folder. When I create a folder on the Desktop, no corresponding item is added to the Desktop folder. We are part of an AD domain which we migrated to only recently. I've checked the ACL's and looked over the registry, but have not identified any obvious errors.

I would appreciate any thouhgts anyone might have.

Thank you

Check to make sure there aren't two copies of the user's Documents and Settings on the PC. If this is a PC that the user formerly logged into when it was not part of AD, then most-likely XP has created a second profile for the user called <username.domain name>.

If not, does a folder you add to the desktop while she is logged in remain after logging her out and logging back in? If not, it's likely her profile is corrupted and XP is logging her in with a temporary profile.
