User portal and call recording via media manager

Facing this issue both on R11.1 and R12.1: Application server + IP500 installed as usual, Media Manager activated and MM license present, VRL recording defined and the User Portal access too. Entering the U.P with the credentials no way to get recordings and a red alarm is shown (no access to external server).

Already tested with same identical settings on a Server Edition and all works fine, so no mistakes o missing settings.

Any ideas?
 
Forgive me it telling you something you've already done. For IP500 V2 with an application server, there is an extra step for Media Manager.

 
I know this step #sizbut and I did it, no success.
Additionally no matter of passwords, VMPRO access is ok both for the client and the IPO users
 
Is it a subscription or PLDS licensed system? The user portal has a setting for where is looks for recordings (a local media manager or a cloud based store which is supported with subscription IP Office).
 
Thank you #sizbut, read it all and make sense but.... it's a PLDS on premise system and the option mentioned on the doc is not available in none of the user portal menus.
