Using Windows XP professional and my user picture suddenly fails to appear on the start menu. It was fine until yesterday, but then just quit appearing. I've changed it to several different pre-installed pictures and none of them seem to appear. When I go to "change user picture", Windows XP recognizes my last picture selection...it just won't show it on the start menu. Not a big problem, but it bugs me that I can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

Anyone had this problem before?

This feature is not supported on computers that are a member of a domain.

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Windows.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

HOW TO: Verify Unsigned Device Drivers in Windows XP

If they don't work (and you think it is worth it), you could try repairing windows itself by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.
