Hi,

I'm not a programmer, nowhere near, but one of our users is having problems with running VC++. After being installed on a NT workstation under an admin account, he trys to compile a program and gets a range of errors from the related compiler, these include problems with cl.exe and rc.exe. When trying the same proceedure when logged in as an admin, we get no problems. Obviously a file permissions problem, I've registered the Enviroment variables but it seems to stretch over a variety of files. Anyone had this problem/know of a fix?

Thanks for your help.

Make him an admin or a poweruser on the local machine would be a quick and easy approach. You are going to find if he does alot of programming with API calls, this will be required for testing. For example, the API call SetProcessWorkingSetSize will not work unless the user has appropriate permissions.
