[Sad] I administer a Domain with an NT Server and XP Clients. I need to allow a specific user "Full Control" of a certain folder. When I ADD this user in the Security Tab and give him "Full Control" rights to the folder it appears to take hold. But when I return to the folder properties later, the user is gone and is replaced by the user's SID Number. This in return does not allow the user to take full control of the folder. Any suggestions

It doenst matter if the SID is shown as this is how NT sees users and it is this SID that all the permissions are based on, if you left it for long enough it would resolve to a users name anyway. More likeley the user has more restrictive permissions in other groups that are preventing access.

Are there any share permissions on this folder, or one that it could be inheriting from? If there are share permissions denying him access then I believe this would overrule the individual file/folder permissions. If not what's happening to your user when he tries to open the folder? Is he getting an error message?
