I have a windows 2000 server. I followed the Microsoft instructions for setting up a vpn server (not using the wizard). When I try to connect, it won't do it. One time I got some sort of 'certificate' error, and the rest of the time it says username/password is incorrect. I have gone to the username in the computer management console and enabled access for dial-in. Any help would be appreciated.

Windows 2000 on the one I am trying to connect with.

I read somewhere yesterday that the server had to have 2 nic cards for vpn to work on w2k server....do you know if this is correct? Because I only have one nic.

Thanks,

M

Ok I got it working - with one NIC. I disabled the vpn configuration and re-enabled (reconfigured) via the RRAS Mgmt console. Worked like a charm. Then users who said they were using their isp would get kicked off the internet once they connected to the vpn server. I added another NIC, and everyone is happy.

Thanks for the help.
