I have a windows 2003 domain and 5 windows xp pro machines that belong to the domain. However i have one machine that is defined to the domain, has a computer account and a user account but seems to use cached credentials to login. For example i have disabled the computer account and the user account used to login to that pc and yet the person can still login and browse the net. I have unjoined and rejoined the domain on this pc and the same result. So what do i do to fix this? Also how can i get the xp pro pc to stop using cached info?

The only way it could authenticate is if the computer is using cached credentials, the way you described it. To disable a computer from being able to use cached credentials:

1. Log on as an local admin
2. Open "Local Security Policy" in the Administrative Tools
3. Expand "Local Policies"
4. Expand "Security Options"
5. Change the value for the "Interactive logon: Number of previous logons to cache" to 0

This will prevent XP from caching any domain accounts. You will have to reboot to clear the current cached accounts.
