User Manager for Domains running on XP

Hiyall..

does anyone come across of a problem and fix for the following:
User Manager for domains running on an XP workstation connected to a local NT 4 domain.
When connecting to a Trusting domain over a WAN an error occurs: "unable to find domain controller for specified domain"

User manager can manage local domain OK, and on a NT4 W/S connection is established to trustin domain with no problems.
