hi we are migrating from NT to XP, i assume the admin has migrated the NT accounts to 2000 type accounts. when logging some users on, we are getting an error saying user name or password is wrong bla bla bla. after calling the helpdesk they are reseting the password then forcing users to change password at first logon. when the user then logs on the users gets a message cannot logon as domain is not available. If we tell the helpdesk not to force a password change at first logon, then the user has no problems. unfortunately this is against company policy as the helpdesk know everybodys password. this doesnt happen all the time and it appears 50/50 with as many users having no problems using their old password. Has anyone elese seen this, please advise.

TIA

during migration period remove the requirement log in, hit alt-ctrl-del and change the PW manually.

does this happen for each user that attempts to use the same machine? Or just on their own PC's Try it.

Thanks spirit for your reply.

Each user has a new pc. only some of the users are having this problem, but it is causing us to have to roll them back.
