I have Exch 5.5 sp3 on a NT 4.0 Sp6a and clients running Win98SE or W2k and Outlook 2000. When removing a user in outlook profiles and adding a new user, Exch states that the new user is logging on the the previous mailbox and that they are not the primary account holder. The current mailbox opens and performs perfect, but I get these error messages when ever the new user logs on to their mailbox. The new AND old users' mailbox shows the correct primary NT account name in Exch.

I'd suggest deleting the entire Profile and adding a new one if you haven't already tried. That would help ensure that there was nothing missed in changing users. Or if you do not want to delete the old profile, just add a new one, and set it as the default (or set it to allow you to choose your profile at startup).

Try going into control panels mail and fax ms outlook address book. In the properties you may well see the old persons name. Remove this entry from the address book and all will be well in the world.

You have no idea how long I stumbled in the dark until I tripped over that one.
