User license use

Is there any way to determine where the user licenses are being used? I have 25 licenses, counted up 17 in use and the license server says there are 24 in use. We are getting login errors. I restarted the licenses service and there was no change.
 
Are you referring to the Citrix or the TS CALs?
 
Citrix user licenses, I have plenty of TS CALS (250)
 
For the Citrix Licenses those are concurrent licenses. In Version 1.8 you will Want to look in Citrix Server Administration, in Version 4.0 you will open the presentation server console and see the users logged in, my guess is that you have a large number of disconnected sessions that need to be cleared out.
 
OK We have version 4.1. I have gone into the presentation server console. Under the farm properties under information is shows 14 current Sessions. Under the only live server this is correct including the console but the license server still shows 21 licenses used. I assume you are referring to disconnected sessions under the server but there are none. Am I missing something?

Fire up the Acces Suite console and look at your License Server web page.
This will give you an accurate number of licenses used and available.
If you don't have that configured....fire up the wizard and it will walk you thru the configuration.

You might have to restart the Citrix license service on your Citrix license server.

I am getting the report from the license server web page. It said we were out of licenses and when I go to it now it is about 7 licenses off from how many sessions are in use. Right now I have 1 presentation server active with only to applicatios published so I have an accurate number of users that are currently in the system. I have restarted the Citrix License service with no change in the amount of licenses shown as in use. Is there a way to determine where the other licenses were issued to? This weekend I am going to shut down all access to citrix, make sure there are no users logged in to any citrix server including the console and see what the license count is. If it still shows 7 licenses even when there are no connections, is there any way to determine where they went?
 
Never seen that happen before, so I can't say where else to look.
 
I found it.

lmstat -a on the license server will give you the results of how many user licenses each server currently has. The one server had licenses checked out from yesterday and the sessions were no longer there. There is also a hotfix available for this issue and is included in the following:

i have also experienced this issue. has the hotfix resolved the problem?
 
We have not applied it yet, probably today or tomorrow. I will post the results when this has been completed.
 
i applied the hotfixes to one of our servers in this order:

MPSE300W2K3R05
then
MPSE300R05W2K3026

seems to have done the trick...let me know how you do
 
It has been a little over a week and no more issues, looks like this definately resolved the problem.
