Ok, this is an odd one. I'm running GM Sales and Marketing 5.7 on an NT 4.0 box (I know....not my decision....), and I keep having users hang up on login. It will bring up the "borders" of Goldmine and hang. If I delete the user.ini from the server (stored in the root Goldmine folder), the user can login right away....anyone ever seen this before????
 
Hi

Try deleting all the lines in just the [Session] section from a user.ini file that is having problems. Since the 'CONTACTn=' line stores the accountno of the last contact record(s) viewed it might point to problems with that record.

I'll try that...the odd thing is, it's always the same users having the problem over and over again. Other users never do. It's got me stumped...I can't narrow it down to a common denominator. Some of the "problem" users have switched PC's and still have the problem (not hardware) and moved (not Network Cable), and everyone has the same apps on their PC.....man, it's just killing me!

I just wanted to let you know, I tried it; and UREKA!!!!!!!! It worked. Here's some more info on what I've found:

1) It happens on specific records
2) If I log out with the Org Chart open on those records, it will completely hang when trying to get back in; but if I logout on those same records with Org Chart closed....it will let me back in BUT it will give me a "grayed out" record for about 20 seconds then bring up a completely different record instead of the one I was last on.....

Your help has brought me closer to a solution than I have been since I started here (3 months ago). Thank you so much!! From what I understand, this has been a problem since our GM Vendor installed the app over a year and a half ago!
