Hi

I can get the current user name and computer name by using the relevant API calls but is there any way of determining if the user is a member of a certain NT Group (like domain users)

At the moment I have a seperate table with relevant user options but everytime I add someone to the NT domain I have to enter them into this table as well, being able to put the user in a relevant group would save me a lot of hassle.

Thanks

Carl

There's a FAQ in the VG General Discussion forum that might help you. Look in the Win32 API section. Mike

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.

Mike:

I believe you wrote that FAQ in the VB General Discussion Forum.

And it's a good one. That's where I send everybody asking this question.

Just as well get the word from a pro....

Thanks for the kind comment guys.

I wrote that ages ago, and I got most of it from Dan Appleman's excellent book -- but never actually had to use it in anger. Works OK though as I remember, funny the stuff you come across and then don't have to use... Mike
