Hi,

Hope someone will have any suggestions or comments relating to this annoying issue. One of my users (Windows 2003 server), when he first loggs into the system, he doesn't see his \\server\home\username drive. He has to log off and then log back again to see his 'Home' drive. Is it his profile issue or?????????

Thank you,
Alex

Hello,

In AD properties > Profile tab > Home folder group, does this person have the correct settings? ie. Connect, driveletter:, \\path?

If all else fails, try just deleting his profile and recreating/logging in.

I had a similar issue recently and it turned out to be that the user(s) had Windows Mobile 5/6 devices connected to their PC's and for some reason Windows was attempting to use this connection in preference to the 'Real' Ethernet one. It was down to NetBIOS being disabled on the LAN but by default being enabled on the virtual NIC that appears when a Windows Mobile 5/6 device is connected to the PC.
If I rebooted the PC in question and left it for a few minutes at the [CTRL] [ALT] [DELETE] screen then the home share would map correctly, if I immediately tried to login when the [CTRL] [ALT] [DELETE] screen appeared then the home share wouldn't map. I manually disabled NetBIOS on the Windows Mobile RNDIS adapter (I also removed all the bindings except TCP/IP on this adapter just in case...).

Not sure if you have the same issue, however it could be the PC has multiple NICs (i.e. wireless) and one is being preferred over the one where your production LAN is connected.

HTH

Andy

Thanks, i will try it tomorrow. It works for now after remapping his home drive. For how long, I don't know.
