This is weird. I have 5 remote users (broadband/vpn) and only one has this problem.

She double-clicks on our 1 published app shortcut. Nothing happens. (we've waited 30min to prove it)

Then she dbl-clicks again, and gets 1 copy of the app, but a second "ghost" copy shows up on the server.

And after she closes the app, the second instance on the server stays. I have to kill it myself.

...Our other 4 users have no problem, with the same environment: w2k(sp2) cablemodem (same vendor) vpn(ms client)

Many, Many thanks for any thoughts you might offer.

I've seen similar things and it's usually a Microsoft Terminal Services Licensing issue. Look at the MS TS Licensing application and find her license, see if it is temporary and expired.

Also try updated her Citrix client.

She is running w2k (sp2)

I have 2 other w2k users connecting the same way (vpn to ofc via cablemodem) who don't have problems.

I'm going to re-install her Citrix client today.

I know this sounds strange, but it has worked for me in the past in a similar situation. After you re-install the client, if that does not work out, try this:

Log the user off the machine and log in as an admin. Go into the c:\documents and settings folder and find her folder. Rename it (I like to use jdoe.back). Log off and log the user back on. All the user's settings will be erased and she will have a brand spanking new profile. Try setting up the client again and see if there is still a prob. And remember, if the user needs anything, shortcuts, My docs, etc, you can always go back into the old profile folder to retrieve them.

Please let us know. And licensing will not be a problem with this user because she is a Win2k user.
