Hi there,

I have an issue with an extension on our IP Office 8.1 system. Phones are Avaya 9608. I have a user extension that when I dial it rings, and if the user is at their phone they can pickup the call, etc. However, if it rings and goes to voicemail, I get my own voicemail.

For example:

Extension 2300 dials the not-working extension (2408), the phone at 2408 rings, however, if the call is not picked up and goes to voicemail, I get the voicemail for extension 2300 (the phone that I am calling from).

I am in IP Office looking around, and do not see much difference when comparing users that work versus this particular extension that is having the issue.

Thank you for your help/time.

Dave

Is it Voicemail Pro? Is there a leave action from their mailbox to your mailbox? Generally, this use case exists for extensions where that user has left the company.

You probably have a short code like 888/VM Collect/"#"U (or"#"E) that is used as call forwarding destination.

In the call flow the originating user sets U or E with his extension or username. Then the call is forwarded to the caller's mailbox.

So, this is all set. Thank you to everyone who offered advice. Issue was resolved when I rebooted VoiceMail system as it had been up for about 8 months without a reboot. Everything is now working as expected.

Thank you again.
