User Entered Logic

I just started working with Cognos 8 and the Report Studio tool a few weeks ago, and I'm seeking a way for users to enter Logical Operators when they go to run the report. Is there a way a user can enter, in a text box, something like the following examples:

> 5
> 5 AND < 10
!8 AND !14
6 OR 7

I've used the "Range" option on text boxes to allow users to choose a range, but that doesn't support all the functionality I'm trying to achieve. Ideally I wish "[Business Layer].

.[Field] ?TextBox1?" would work but it doesn't.

Any ideas or suggestions how to procede would be greatly appreciated!
