User dependent output tray

Hi All

My requirement is that , when I want to give printout,
the printer based on my userID will put the printout in user specifc tray. Lets us assume there are 15 output trays.

I want to specify one particular tray for my userID.

Is it possibe in any technology using HP printers ?

I believe there is a shell variable LPDEST. You could try setting this variable in your .profile to specify the tray you wanted.

export LPDEST="hplj405 -o tray2"

So now when you print with lp, I believe it will pass the options along.
