Normally to make a user defined report you would duplicate a strandard report (by hitting the duplicate icon, or right clicking an selecting duplicate or going to file, duplicate)

The last couple of desktop users i have set up are experiencing the same problem that when they try to duplicate a standard report they get the error

Invalid attribute/option identifier.

Other than that, Sypmosium is working fine for them.

any ideas what is causing this and how to fix it please ?

Is this a classic client/fat client? Does the user have appropriate permissions to perform this task? The user needs to have Write access to the hard drive in order to create a custom report as this information is stored on their hard drive.

Yes this is the Classic client not the web client.

I was thinking it might be permisions based but I have gven explicit permissions on that machine for all Domain users to be able write to

C:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\Symposium Call Center Server\SqlIni

Are there any other files they should be able to write to ?

ok scratch that i've sorted it.

i gave full permissions to the entire Nortel networks and a sub files and folders and then it started working.

i did a search to see what files had changed and it appears that they also need write acess to

log.mdb
nicrpt.mdb in

C:\Program Files\Nortel Networks\Symposium Call Center Server\Client\en\data
