We are having some problem in reportnet.
I have removed everyone from system admin, right now system admin and some pre-built in roles(such as report admin, query users..) can access the entries in public folder. If I add a user as a member of one of above groups, such as report admin, this user can see the entries in public folder, but if I just add this user itself or create a new group in Cognos namespace(the user is one of the member), it doesn't work. User can't see any of the entries.

In cognos namespace property, everyone group has read, write, execute and traverse priviledge, and everyone group also has access to our cognos serial 7 namespace.

Could anyone help me with this issue? Please...

Hi,

I think the problem is that you have taken the 'everyone' role out of the roles which currently have access to the Public Folders page. Therefore by default users have no privileges in the Public Folders area unless you add them to a role that has access to Public Folders.

To resolve this, log on as a user with administrative privileges. Go to the Public Folders page (top level), and press the 'Set Properties - Public Folders' button (3rd in from the right). In here, go to the permissions tab, add in the 'everyone' role from the Cognos namespace, and grant whatever privileges you want all users to get to the everyone role.

Hope this helps,

MF.
